Saratoga Springs, NY boasts a tremendous speedskating history including one of the oldest speedskating clubs. The Saratoga Winter Club traces its roots back as far as 1888.

The Saratoga Winter Club was re-established in 1934 to primarily promote the sport of recreational, instructional and competitive speedskating in Saratoga Springs and nearby towns. Under the tutelage of Head Coach Paul Marchese, the SWC offers a year-round program utilizing both indoor and outdoor ice, and featuring off-season conditioning and in-line skating. Ice sessions begin in September and extend through March. They are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Saratoga skating rinks.
